- Campaigned for President Bush: Iowa Straw Poll, Iowa Caucus New Hampshire Primary Michigan Primary
- Worked with community leaders to keep American Eagle at Gregg County Airport
- Worked with community leaders and TXDoT in funding of Walnut Hills hike and bike trail
- Worked with community leaders to locate new operations for OrangeX in Kilgore
- Worked with community leaders and Dana Corporation governmental affairs office to locate Dana Corporation operations in Longview
- Took lead and urged TXDoT to make application to Federal Railroad Administration for Highspeed Rail Corridor. Application was approved with Dallas being central hub for Southwest Corridor. Corridor will run along current Texas Eagle route.
- Worked with community leaders and TXDoT to secure funding of Hwy 259 Bypass around Kilgore after more than 28 years in process.
- LeTourneau University exit signs on IH-20
- Worked with Sabine River Authority to secure surface water supply for city of Kilgore
- HB 1895 Relating to the management of software and software licenses by state agencies. Will save state more than $20 million.
- SB 7 Goals for Natural Gas to ensure low cost energy
- HB 1070 Allowing veterans with disabled veteran tags to park in handicapped parking slots without handicapped placards
