Rep. Merritt co-authored House Bill 1034 which adds the words “under God” to the Texas pledge. It became effective on June 15, 2007.
Our new state pledge is:
“Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible.” |
