HOUSE DISTRICT 7 CANDIDATES RELEASE FINANCE REPORTS STAFF 03/04/2006
State Rep. Tommy Merritt, R-Longview, and his challenger in the March 7 Republican primary for the Texas House District 7 seat, Mark Williams, filed campaign finance reports Feb. 27. Both also filed telegram reports showing more political contributions.
MERRITT
Merritt reports collecting $78,214.37 in total political contributions during the period of Jan. 27 through Feb. 25, according to a Texas Ethics Commission campaign finance report.
On Feb. 27, he also filed a telegram report showing more political contributions totaling $7,000. On March 1, he filed another telegram report showing more political contributions totaling $27,987.
Taking the Feb. 27 report, the two telegram reports and combining those with two previous reports for July 1 through Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 through Jan. 26, Merritt has total political contributions of $201,016.37.
Merritt reports total political expenditures of $146,773.75 in the most recent reporting period. Combined with the last two reports, his total expenditures are $179,510.57.
His most recent report shows total political contributions maintained as of the last day of the reporting period as $20,133.37. He has an outstanding loan of $321,611.
